Sewing Class 101 — Beginner Sewing Foundations

Have you always wanted to learn how to sew but didn't know where to start? Sewing Class 101 is designed for the true beginner who is ready to learn the basics in a fun, supportive, and hands-on environment.

In this class, you'll become familiar with your sewing machine and learn the foundational skills every new sewist needs before moving on to sewing projects.

What You'll Learn:

• Understanding the parts of your sewing machine
• What a bobbin is and how to wind and insert one
• How to properly thread your sewing machine
• Understanding basic sewing terminology
• How to control your fabric and sewing speed
• Practicing straight lines and basic stitching
• Understanding seam allowances
• Why pressing your seams is an important part of sewing
• Basic sewing machine safety
• Tips to help you feel comfortable and confident at your machine

You'll spend time actually sewing and practicing, not just watching!

No previous sewing experience is required. Whether you've never touched a sewing machine before or you simply need a refresher, Sewing 101 will give you the foundation you need to confidently continue your sewing journey.
